FDA Commissioner Dr. Margaret Hamburg sent “a letter to America’s healthcare professionals thanking them for their efforts during the 2009 H1N1 influenza outbreak and providing information on the safety of the 2009 H1N1 vaccines.” The letter provides an overview of the manufacturing and approval process for these vaccines as a way to help address issues around the delays in availability of the vaccine and public confidence about this vaccine overall.
