“Vaccine hesitancy” means scientists need to be more honest about risks

Global vaccination programmes are on the brink of a successful new era, but they could yet be undermined by challenges, including a potential crisis of public trust, say experts. A seminar heard how “vaccine hesitancy,” poor healthcare systems, and “unfair” pricing must be tackled to stop preventable diseases claiming millions more lives. The debate, on vaccines and the opportunities they offer for global health, was held at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine on 13 April.
