Vaccination programs against rotavirus have the potential to dramatically improve the health of children worldwide. Two licensed rotavirus vaccines currently in use have been shown to be highly effective in reducing the burden and consequences of rotavirus-related disease.1 Recently, a third vaccine in late-stage development in India has shown positive results in a large clinical trial.
